...let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

FROM THE PASTOR:

We had a good day in God's house last Sunday. The Lord blessed us with His presence and good crowds for both services.  The quote from Charles Spurgeon concerning our responsibility to share our faith and reach out to the lost that I shared last Sunday morning is still on my mind.  The Spurgeon quote goes as follows, "If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”  What a man of God Spurgeon must have been.  May God give us a burden for the lost that mirrors this quote.  Let's strive to be His witnesses in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.  Please know I am praying that the Lord will continue to give us all opportunities to share what He is and has been doing in our lives.  May God give us wisdom as we share our faith with those He places in our path is my prayer.

The movie, Courageous, that we showed at church last Sunday night was a great movie with an even greater message.  I saw many people wiping tears away during the movie.  It is my prayer that God will use this movie to challenge all of us who have seen it to be the best parents we can be to His honor and glory.  It was a blessing for me to get to watch such a powerful movie sitting next to my son.  I wish my daughter, Lauren, could have been here to watch it with us.

January is now behind us and I am glad to share that the new year is off to an exciting start here at FEC.  God has been blessing our services in every way.  Our attendance is up, and, most importantly,God's presence is being felt as we meet.  Many are seeking the Lord at the end of the services and God is moving in our midst and on our hearts.  I pray this will continue as we move forward in 2012.

We also are having really good attendance on Wednesday nights.  The last two Wednesday nights we have had over 200 here at church...203 and 212 respectively.  We have a number of adult classes on Wednesdays here at FEC.  A study called "Not A Fan" on discipleship is being facilitated by Kevin Bryant.  A Beth Moore study on the book of James facilitated by Kristy Woodard.  Richard is teaching the normal prayer meeting group.  I teach a mens class.  We have classes for all ages from the college/career group all the way down to the babies in the nursery.  Small groups are the lifeblood of our local church and are a wonderful way to grow in our relationship with the Lord and each other.  I encourage you to prayerful consider attending on Wednesday nights.  You and your family will be glad you did.

The Beth Moore study is being held on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 and Sunday nights at 5:30 pm as well.  Both classes are having good attendance.

Keep witnessing.  Keep inviting.  Keep praying.

Tim

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
