Pastor Tim has been a staff member at our local church since 1983 and has been the senior pastor since 1987.  Pastor Tim has long standing roots in Macon.  He grew up in south Macon graduating from Southwest High School and has degrees from Macon State College and Mercer University.  He has been married to his wife Leigh Ann for over twenty eight years.  Pastor Tim and Leigh Ann have two children.  Their son, Dallas, graduated a couple of years ago from the University of Georgia with a major in engineering and is currently working at Warner Robins Air Force Base.  Dallas and his wife, Naomi, live in Macon and still attend FEC.  Their daughter, Lauren, is currently attending Ohio Christian University in Cirlcevile, Ohio.  Pastor Tim has a passion to see our church reach out to this community and share the love of God with the people of middle Georgia.  When time allows he loves to travel with his family and enjoys playing golf with his friends.

Our family is privileged to serve the Lord at FEC.  Richard and Tara have been married for 15 years and are blessed with four girls; Caroline, 12, Susannah, 8, Katie, 6, and LindyAnn, 4 months.  Richard has been a pastor since 2000, serving at FEC as Associate Pastor since June of 2004.  He is originally from Columbus, but has been in Macon for over 20 years.  He enjoys spending time with his family, being outside, swimming, sports, and landscaping.  He has a passion for Theology and telling people about Jesus.  Richard's gift from God is "Faith".  He has a bachelors degree in Communications from UGA, an associates in Horticulture, and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi which he earned in 2004. 

Tara is our Nursery Coordinator, a job in which she feels passionate and called by the Lord to do.  Tara has a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse.  She works 2 nights a week at Pediatrics After Hours.  Tara grew up in Macon and has been at FEC over 27 years. Tara enjoys being with children, she loves reaching out to them and telling them about Jesus.  Her hobbies include, traveling, being with her family, and working on home improvements. 

Our whole family is passionate about Missions, we want to be obedient to the Great Commission, spreading the Good News wherever God sends us. We love our church and most of all, We Love Jesus!

Layne and Sandy have been married over 10 years and have five children: Lilly(8), Ella Cate(7), Daniel(5), Rachel(3) and newborn - Jacob(not pictured). They were both born and raised in Macon. Layne has attended First Evangelical Church all of his life while Sandy began coming in the youth group. Layne enjoys working with young people and encourages them to live a life worthy of Christ. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, bike riding and sleeping. Sandy attended Macon State and Georgia College & State University where she received a degree in Middle Grades Education and later, a Masters Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology. She worked hard for those degree but enjoys staying home with her kids. She spends most of her time trying to find new ideas and ways to teach children about Christ.

Both Kevin and Shannon have an approach to Preschool/Young Family Ministry that encourages young adults, young families, and young children to embrace an authentic faith that is active and growing!  It is their sincere prayer to see your family strengthened in your love for the Lord and for each other!

Kevin is finishing his degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute.  With previous ministry experience in youth, college and career, and life group ministry, Kevin is passionate about discipleship and evangelism.  Shannon has 3 degrees from GC&SU in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education.  With time spent in youth ministry, life group ministry, and children's ministry, Shannon also feels called to encourage others, so that they see the fullness of the life God has planned for them.  Kevin and Shannon are committed to serving the Lord and serving others in their ministry.

Kevin and Shannon are blessed with 3 children--Tucker, Tate, and Sadie.  They enjoy spending time as a family, water sports, soccer, scouts--all the fun things that keep a young family busy!  They invite and welcome you to join them in the Preschool/Young Family Department.
